Programmable Automation Systems

Programme aim is to prepare the bachelors in automation system programming who are able to independently design, programme and operate electromechanic automation systems, to launch the latest technologies of digital production and demonstrate knowledge on electronics of control equipment and computer based automated control systems.

 

In 2019 the bachelor degree study programme Programmable automation systems was awarded the Investors Spotlight quality badge. This award is given as a response to market trends and business needs, the quality of the programme and its evolution, and for implementing individual investor recommendations for the study programme and the study process.

The content of discrete modules is reviewed and constructed according to the proposals of companies that carry out training for certification, so students are prepared to take examinations for certification in work safety field.

Studies in „Product development project“ is based on innovation development concept and enable students to master the competencies of team working in interdisciplinary group, innovation management, entrepreneurship and communication. This product development project emphasizes competence based learning „from idea to product“, is built upon project-based activities and solving the real issues of companies.

Active involvement of social partners in study process

Topic for final degree projects are suggested by the social partners. They actively participate in modules as guest lecturers, supervise the process of student internship in the companies, help developing a study programme and act as a career mentors. The graduates may specialized their skills according to the needs of social partners’ companies that propose internship places for students.

Skills

Usage of information technologies in automation engineering

Students will learn to draw and project with AutoCAD and SOLIDWORKS software, to programme different devices (e.g. CNC machine), will obtain knowledge on cyber physics systems, internet of things. They will be introduced to the application of artificial intellect and cloud engineering in the industrial production control.

 

Skills

- The designing and operation of electromechanical automation systems;
- mastering the cable and wireless standards of industrial communications;
- the designing of computer/devices/equipment/robots networks in the companies;
- the programming of industrial equipment of different producers: controllers, electrical circuits, industrial robots, CNC machines, etc.;
- computer modelling and drawing with MATLAB software, mastering C++ programming language;
- product/service development and commercialization.

The graduates may specialized their skills according to the needs of social partners’ companies that propose internship places for students.

You may become

– preparation of technical specifications for automation projects, specification and design of control systems, consultation of companies on production line automation methods and equipment issues;

– managing the monitoring of automation systems, managing the projects for new automation tools that are being introduced, coordination of maintenance of automation equipment;

– specification of control system software, preparation of tasks for programmers, inspection of programming works and code integration.

– system designing of automation systems, delivery coordination of materials, equipment and devices, managing the operations and inspection of automation systems;

– development of automation and control systems software, modelling the dynamic and static features of control systems, application of big data, cloud engineering and artificial intellect in the automation tasks;

– preparation of protocols and standards for automation systems’ installation, upgrade, quality control, testing, verification and maintenance.

– programming of industrial and embedded computers in automation devices and systems;

– programming of logic controllers, configuration and installation of industrial communication systems;

– configuration and programming computer (or computerized) numerical control (CNC) machines, robots and industrial manipulators.

Maximum 3 years after high school graduation is eligible.

The entry qualification documents are accepted in the following languages: English / Russian.

The documents must be legalised (Apostille) by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the country where the documents were issued. This requirement does not apply for the documents issued in the EU and Belarus, Ukraine.

Minimum average grade (CGPA) > 60 % in each entry subject.
