Programmable Automation Systems

Do we control technologies or do they control us? It is clear that technologies make our life easier and more comfortable; however, it requires people who know the structures of automation systems, can design and programme them. Maybe you are one of these people?

The task of the programmers of automation systems is design, programming and control of electromechanical or computer-aided automation systems that would make this world faster, more modern and convenient.

Studies in the evenings and on weekends. Studies at Panevėžys Faculty of Technologies and Business make it easy to combine your work with lectures because they are provided in the evening and on weekends.

Students enrolled in state-funded positions have a posibility to receive 200 Euro monthly scholarship from the Ministry of Economy and Innovation for the duration of their studies.

The programme is currently not open for admission.

Values

„Investors‘ Spotlight“

Recognized study programme

The Programmable Automation Systems bachelor’s degree programme has been awarded the prestigious Investors’ Spotlight quality label, which officially confirms that the programme meets the expectations of Lithuanian and foreign companies and investors, and that it is a leader in the training of programmable automation systems specialists in Lithuania.

Recognized study programme

Studies at your future workplace

They say, trying something once is better than reading about it a hundred times. Therefore, you will have the possibility to “try your future workplace on” for three consecutive semesters. The unique composition of the study programme will give you a chance to complete an extended internship at production companies.

Certificates according to the employer’s needs

Out active cooperation with companies allowed us to review and formulate the content of studies so that you could receive the certificates related to occupational safety.

You will create strategies and innovations

Besides the programming, it is important to know how to implement your idea from zero. During the lectures of the “Product Development Project”, you will learn about teamwork, creation of innovations, business establishment and proper communication. These competencies will allow you to understand the process of project implementation even for complex products.

Communication with entrepreneurs

At the end of your studies, you will face the representatives of real companies. They will submit the topics for your final degree projects. Your communication will begin during the studies – KTU social partners participate in the process of improvement of the university’s studies and internships; their active advice helps the students to make an informed choice of their career path.

Powerful IT skills

Drawing and design using “AutoCAD” or “SolidWorks” software will become your mastered skills. However, that is not all. You will be able to programme various equipment (for example, CNC machinery), have knowledge of hyperphysical systems, the Internet of Things, learn about artificial intelligence and cloud computing.

Product and service development

Are you interested in creating real products and services while studying? It is now possible to test yourself by getting involved in a product development project (PDP). During the project, you will work in teams, collaborating with KTU researchers and social partners. While solving current, relevant problems you will improve your teamwork, project management, and problem-solving skills, deepen professional knowledge and expand your career opportunities.

Career

Your knowledge will enable you to do the following:

 – Design, programme and operate the electromechanical automation systems;
– Install the latest technologies of digitised production;
– Know the operation of control devices and electronics of computer-aided automated control systems.

You may become

Automation project manager

The persons preparing and managing the automation projects, consultants at the companies who can assist in all the issues of the production automation methods, perform the maintenance of automation systems, supervise the automation processes, software development, coordinate and supervise the work.

Production automation systems engineer

The professionals who design and operate the automation systems. They can solve the tasks of the application of various technologies in the automation process, install, update and perform maintenance of the equipment.

Programmer of automation devices and systems

The persons who programme the automation systems in industrial equipment, configure and control such systems and numerical control machinery, robots or industrial manipulators.
