A student who chooses BA+ competence, acquires the knowledge and skills in an additional study field, and discovers new career prospects.
BA+ competence blocks offered in KTU Bachelor’s study programmes can be an alternative study plan for the specialisations, individual set of modules, and the subjects providing deeper knowledge of the study field.
An option of BA+ competence model is indicated next to each Bachelor’s study programme. The students can choose BA+ competences from the lists of competences selected for specific study programmes that have an option of BA+.
4-year study programmes may have an option of BA+ competences in the scope of 18 or 30 credits.
- If a 4-year study programme provides an option of BA+ competence in the scope of 18 credits, one module is provided in 5, 6 and 7 semesters of the study programme.
- If a 4-year study programme provides an option of BA+ competence in the scope of 30 credits, the modules are provided in the study programme in the following order: one module in 5 semester, two modules in 6 semester and 2 modules in 7 semester.
3-year study programmes may have an option of BA+ competences in the scope of 18 credits.
- One module is provided in the study programme’s 3, 4 and 5 semesters.
The option of BA+ competence is indicated in the Academic Information System (AIS). The students of the study programmes providing BA+ option are notified about the submission deadlines and procedures by a separate email. Selection of the competences in 4-year study programmes in AIS is scheduled in the autumn semester of the third year of studies, in 3-year study programmes – in the autumn semester of the second year of studies.
The students can choose the competences taught in the Lithuanian or English languages. A chosen competence will be implemented only when a full group of students is formed.
Acquisition of the competence is certified by the issue of KTU certificate and entry in the diploma supplement.
