Values

Studies

The possibility to choose the specifics of studies

The students are provided with an opportunity to choose four more specialised groups of study modules (alternatives) in addition to the basic study programme modules, i.e. Electrical and Control Equipment, Energy Converters and Control, Electrical Power Systems and Control, and Information Technology of Electrical Engineering.

Skills

Good knowledge of all engineering processes

During the studies, the students deepen their knowledge of electric, electronic and electromechanical automation and energy devices, control of energy converters, their use in various electricity and electronics fields. When performing the practical tasks, they learn how to create, design, and use electrical devices, energy converters and transformers, intelligent electricity networks, apply information technologies.

Environment

The students and lecturers work as partners

The students and lecturers of Electrical Engineering study programme work as partners, the attitude of students to the studied objects is highly appreciated and they are provided with the most favourable conditions to seek knowledge and improve.

Infrastructure

Modern electrical engineering laboratories are used in the process of studies

By working in the laboratories equipped with modern laboratory equipment, the students acquire modern practical skills which are highly valued among the employers after the completion of the studies.

Demand on the labour market

The growing demand for the graduates

The demand for electricity both in our country and in the world is increasing; therefore, this requires the improvement of technologies in the fields of electricity, power electronics, and engineering. The demand for specialists in this field is growing accordingly. According to the research performed by “Forbes” magazine, the demand for electricity engineers is constantly growing. According to the data of the Labour Exchange Market of Lithuania, there is a constant lack of electrical power engineering specialists on the labour market.

The graduates are welcomed in such famous international companies as “ABB”, “GE”, “Siemens”, “Schneider Electric”, as well as Lithuanian companies “Lietuvos energija”, “Litgrid”, “ESO”, “AWALED”, “Elinta”, “Fima”, “Kauno energetikos remontas”, “Elektromontuotojas”, “Accel elektronika”, the Ministry of Energy of the Republic of Lithuania, the National Commission for Energy Control and Prices, and other state and business institutions.

Product and service development

Are you interested in creating real products and services while studying? It is now possible to test yourself by getting involved in a product development project (PDP). During the project, you will work in teams, collaborating with KTU researchers and social partners. While solving current, relevant problems you will improve your teamwork, project management, and problem-solving skills, deepen professional knowledge and expand your career opportunities.
