Pedagogy Studies

This programme is prepared for the specialists, who already have the qualification of higher education, and work or are planning to work at secondary schools, but they don’t have the qualification of a teacher. The objective of the programme is to prepare the pedagogue, who has good knowledge of pedagogy, is able to apply his/her knowledge into his/her practical activity.

Online studies

Study remotely

The theoretical part of the programme (30 credits) is carried out remotely. Lectures are transmitted directly from KTU Information Technology Department e-Learning Technology Center. Students can watch live lectures online, ask questions, discuss. If students are not able to follow a live lecture programme because of their employment, they can view the recorded video at a convenient time. All examinations and some consultations are carried out when students arrive at the university.

Practice

Pedagogical practice at KTU Schools

Pedagogical practice (30 credits) is carried out at the student-teacher’s workplace or in another offered educational institution. Practitioners are supervised by a mentor-supervisor appointed by the order of the director of that school. Pedagogical practice can also be carried out in foreign educational institutions.

Project

Pedagogical Activity and Competence Portfolio

The study programme is completed by the final thesis of pedagogical studies, which is prepared in accordance with the strategy of pedagogical activity improvement research.
