Values

Studies

Technology and creativity

Theory can be practical too. You will work in laboratories, learn how to use laboratory and industrial equipment and gain practical skills in CAD. You will develop critical engineering thinking that helps you make the right decisions in the design and production of textile materials and clothing. You will apply your knowledge of technological innovation in a creative way.

Skills and knowledge

Personalised studies

The programme allows you to choose subjects as well as tasks, so you can start planning your career path while you’re still studying. You can be able to deepen your knowledge in product design, business,  computer game and digital fashion development. Interdisciplinary knowledge and skills will help you adapt to the changing fashion industry and professional activities.

Experience

Virtual design

The business of fashion is replaced by computer programmes which are widely used by fashion designers and constructors. You will learn to visualise designs by Adobe Illustrator and Adobe Photoshop, to design materials and garments using Lectra and Gerber Technology CAD. You will learn AutoCad and MathCad to produce engineering documents.

Career

Attention!

…fashion engineering specialists wanted. There is a shortage of professionals and specialists in this field both in Lithuania and across Europe, so you will be able to get a job while you are still studying, as 90% of the students in the programme do.

Colleagues

Lots of activities

This study programme attracts active students. If you want to participate in creative activities, organise and participate in fashion events, you will meet a lot of like-minded students here. If you want to gain international experience international experience, can choose from Erasmus+ studies in Europe, professional traineeships or research fellowships.

Product and service development

Are you interested in creating real products and services while studying? It is now possible to test yourself by getting involved in a product development project (PDP). During the project, you will work in teams, collaborating with KTU researchers and social partners. While solving current, relevant problems you will improve your teamwork, project management, and problem-solving skills, deepen professional knowledge and expand your career opportunities.

The name itself dictates: these people design and prototype products, clothes and textiles, test materials and advise at the idea development level. They ensure that the products they develop meet technical, functional, ecological and production requirements.

These specialists coordinate the technical implementation of the garment design, taking into account the product’s characteristics, purpose and the customer’s requirements. They also construct the basic structures, design and graduate the lecals.

They are specialists who know everything about production methods and equipment. They are the ones who monitor compliance with quality and environmental management systems.

These people monitor and analyse what is happening in the market and what is missing. Another of their tasks is to organise the negotiation of the products to be bought and sold. They represent the interests of the company or organisation with external companies – deciding on marketing and advertising plans, taking care of brand positioning, and carrying out the brand’s budget and control strategy.

They are the experts responsible for purchasing and maintaining the equipment and implementing health and safety requirements. They are the ones who prepare the documents, commercial offers and budgets for production activities.

BA+ competences

BA+ competence blocks offered in KTU Bachelor’s study programmes can be an alternative study plan for:

The studies extensively examine the processes of clothing production, the knowledge of which saves me in my current field. I am currently working with Clo3D clothing design program. We are team of three virtual design specialist. The sphere is new and challenging every day. A 3D specialist needs technological and construction knowledge, and at the same time, there are many creative solutions. Improving in this field means constantly expanding your knowledge in 3D applications. In order to get the most realistic product possible, you need to use more than one 3D program and other various editing programs.

I am proud of my university, which developed me even more as a person and put me on my feet as a responsible, entrepreneurial, self-confident person. After my studies, I seriously decided that I cannot and do not know how to work for others - I want to work for myself. This is how the brand "VARLIŲ SPINTA" was born.
While developing my brand, I already knew how to draw up a business plan (although I'll admit, I draw them up only in my head), and all the production processes are still very useful. Of course - I can't forget the technological lines! In the studios, we used to take apart the clothes and had to describe what was sewn after what.
in 2015 I completed my master's studies. What you will learn - you will not carry it on your shoulders! Ambition will lead to success.
