Master+ is a unique model within a chosen MSc programme
The Master+ model offers either to masterpiece in the chosen discipline by choosing the Field Expert track or to strengthen the interdisciplinary skills in addition to the main discipline by choosing the Interdisciplinary Expert track providing a choice of a different competence to compliment the chosen discipline and achieve a competitive advantage in one’s career.
Students of these study programmes can choose between the path of Field Expert and Interdisciplinary Expert. Selection is made in the academic information system. Each path (competence) consists of three subjects (18 credits) allocated as follows: 1 year 1 semester (autumn) – first subject (6 credits), 1 year 2 semester (spring) – second subject (6 credits), 2 year 3 semester – third subject (6 credits). A student, who chooses a path of the Field Expert, deepens knowledge and strengthens skills in the main field of studies. The one, who chooses a path of the Interdisciplinary Expert, acquires knowledge and skills in a different area or field of studies. Competence provides a choice of alternative additional subjects.
Acquisition of the competence is certified by the issue of KTU certificate and entry in the appendix to the Master’s diploma. In addition, students can acquire an international certificate (details are provided next to each competence).
Competences are implemented by KTU lecturers – experts in their area – and high level business and public sector organizations; their employees deliver lectures, submit topics for the student’s theses, placement-oriented tasks for the projects, etc.
While studying Accounting and Audit at KTU I have gained valuable knowledge and experience towards IFRS. I believe that the program has a great advantage of being accepted by ACCA because after finishing Master studies there is a great kick to go study ACCA, since, many exams are already passed.
Another valuable advantage is lectures held by professionals from various companies what also gives practical knowledge in the field of accounting and audit.
Overall, I strongly recommend choosing this program for people who seek to become professionals in the field of accounting.
First of all, studying at KTU School of Economics and Business study program of Accounting and Auditing enables you to create a perfect network, relations with different kinds of people. The most important part of our studies is having a guest lecturer for every lecture we have which helps us broaden our knowledge for studies and our network to get more information about job opportunities in Lithuania. When it comes to the relations between students and professors, this surprised me a lot, I don't feel any difference between me and the professor. They really are kind, friendly and nice people. Studying at KTU will definitely help you find what you really want to become.
Accounting and Auditing programme studies at KTU greatly improved my self-confidence and proficiency. The programme provided me with strong fundamental knowledge of international accounting and auditing, as well as enabled to improve my skills in practice. During the studies I took the opportunity to participate in Erasmus+ programme internship – as a part of my studies I worked as an accounting intern in Malta at Chetcuti Cauchi company.
Who else could tell us – owners and employees, investors and creditors, state and citizens – how things are, if not accounting specialists? And who could confirm that what is said by accounting specialists is true, if not auditors? Both of these professions are vertebra of market economy, they provide the most significant resource – information, required for decision-making.
I have a very positive approach towards studies of Audit and accounting in KTU. During the lectures, we performed many challenging and practical assignments. I acquired valuable skills, deepened my knowledge of accounting, and acquired basic knowledge of audit; that was useful in my professional career.
