Flexible learning pathways include a range of study plan options for undergraduate studies. Students choose a flexible learning pathway through a competition or during the individual study plan process, and a flexible learning pathway can also be a compulsory part of the study plan.
The study programme offers the choice of one of the provided specialisations, which is a set of study modules (a volume of at least 24 credits) that allows the development of specific and/or deeper competencies in the student’s study field.
The record of completion of the deeper competence pathway (specialisation) will be indicated in the student’s bachelor’s diploma supplement.
During the competition for the selection of study plan alternatives in KTU Academic Information System (AIS) within the deadlines set out in the University’s academic calendar. Students whose study programme includes a specialisation option are notified about the competition deadlines and procedures by a separate email. The selection for the students of 4-year study programmes takes place in the spring semester of the second year of studies and for the students of 3-year study programmes in the spring semester of the first year of studies.
The study programme offers an elective(or compulsory) challenge-based learning pathway, where 18 credits of the programme are allocated for the study modules that apply challenge-based learning methodologies, and micro-modules (1-3 credits) that provide additional competencies to address challenges or strengthen and deepen knowledge in a specific field.
The record of completion of the challenge-based pathway will be indicated in the student’s bachelor’s diploma supplement.
During studies, while making an individual study plan in KTU Academic Information System (AIS) within the deadlines set out in the University’s academic calendar. The elective module “Elective Micro-Modules” (code MM00**) or “Elective Challenges” (code INNO**) is chosen in the AIS. Students are notified about the making of their study plans and deadlines via the AIS and email.
The study programme offers an elective (or compulsory) innovation pathway with 12 credits allocated for either the study module “Product Development Project” (12 credits) or the module “Technology Entrepreneurship” (6 credits) and another module (6 credits). In these modules, students develop real innovations – products or services – by finding solutions to ideas or problem situations proposed by social partners and learn in interdisciplinary teams in cooperation with University researchers and social partners.
The record of completion of the innovation development pathway will be indicated in the student’s bachelor’s diploma supplement.
During studies, while making an individual study plan in KTU Academic Information System (AIS) within the deadlines set out in the University’s academic calendar. Students are notified about the making of their study plans and deadlines via the AIS and email. A choice is possible if the option of choosing one of the two alternatives is included in the composition of the study programme. The selection in the AIS for the 4-year study programmes takes place in the spring semester of the second year of studies and for the 3-year study programmes in the spring semester of the first year of studies.
Students who will study the module “Product Development Project” have to choose the topic of the product development project in the AIS before the beginning of the semester. Students will be notified about their choice of topics via the AIS and email. Students will work on their projects in teams that are formed according to the topics chosen by the students for their product development project. Students will be notified about their topic and team assignment via the AIS and email before the beginning of the spring semester (before the beginning of the classes of the study module).
The study programme offers the choice of the interdisciplinary competence pathway, which is a set of study modules (18 or 30 credits) in the study field other than the field of the study programme. The student can also compose an interdisciplinary competence by selecting modules taught at the University.
Students can choose between BA+ competencies taught in Lithuanian or English. The BA+ competencies are only provided if a cost-effective group of students is assembled, and it is compatible with the academic timetable.
The record of completion of the interdisciplinary competence pathway (BA+) will be indicated in the student’s bachelor’s diploma supplement.
During the competition for the selection of study plan alternatives in KTU Academic Information System (AIS) within the deadlines set out in the University’s academic calendar. Students whose study programme includes a BA+ competence are notified about the competition deadlines and procedures via the AIS and email. The selection for the students of 4-year study programmes takes place in the spring semester of the second year of studies and for the students of 3-year study programmes in the spring semester of the first year of studies.
The study programme offers an elective (or compulsory) extended internship pathway, where more credits than usual are allocated for internships in companies or organisations. The internship can last 1-2 semesters of studies.
The record of completion of the extended internship pathway will be indicated in the student’s bachelor’s diploma supplement.
During the competition for the selection of study plan alternatives in the Academic Information System (AIS) within the deadlines set out in the University’s academic calendar. Students whose study programme includes an extended internship are notified about the competition conditions and deadlines via the AIS and email. The selection takes place in the AIS in the spring semester of the second year of studies.
The study programme offers an additional opportunity to choose minor studies in pedagogy and obtain a teaching qualification (60 credits). The graduate is awarded a qualification degree according to the completed study programme and, in addition, a teaching qualification.
