Flexible learning pathways

Flexible learning pathways include a range of study plan options for postgraduate studies. Students choose a flexible learning pathway through a competition or during the individual study plan process, and a flexible learning pathway can also be a compulsory part of the study plan.

Interdisciplinary or deeper competence pathway

The study programme offers the option of the interdisciplinary expert competence, which is a set of 3 study modules (18 credits) in a study field different than the one of the study programme (one of the interdisciplinary competencies is challenge-based learning) or the expert competence in the field, which is a set of 3 deepening study modules (18 credits) in the same field as the study programme.

By choosing the field expert competence, the student deepens his/her knowledge and strengthens his/her skills in the main study field. By choosing the interdisciplinary expert competence, the student acquires knowledge and skills in another study field or area.

Students can also choose competencies that are taught in English and study with international students. Competencies (in Lithuanian and English) are only provided if a required group of students (at least 10 students in the group) is assembled, and it is compatible with the academic timetable.

Students who study under the 1.5-year master’s study programmes can also choose the MA+ competencies and study them paying the tuition fee for a credit. The competencies are only provided if the whole group of students is assembled. The chosen MA+ competence must be compatible with the student’s timetable.

The record of completion of the Interdisciplinary or deeper competence pathway (MA+) will be indicated in the student’s master’s diploma supplement.

You will be able to choose one competency from the list below:

Challenge-based pathway

The study programme offers an elective (or compulsory) challenge-based learning pathway, where 18 credits of the programme are allocated for the study modules that apply challenge-based learning methodologies, and micro-modules (1-3 credits) that provide additional competencies to address challenges or strengthen and deepen knowledge in a specific field.

There is also a MA+ competence “Challenge-Based Innovation”, based on challenge-based learning. In this MA+ competence, students solve freely chosen challenges, which may be related to a study field different than the one being studied.

The record of completion of the challenge-based pathway will be indicated in the student’s master’s diploma supplement.
